The Seven Views of Time: Circular Time

Isaiah 40:22 says that Yahweh sits above the circle of the Earth. If you look at creation, it is full of circles. The planets and stars are circles, the cells in a human body, the nucleus of an atom... even the paths that planets take around the sun.

Circular time is much like the path a planet takes around the sun. Time is your orientation to an event, or an event's orientation to you. We are used to saying that ____ happened in the past or we hope ____ will happen in the future. In circular time, those events can come back to the present.

The third view of time, spiracular or spiral time, is somewhat similar. Also similar will be the Seven Circles of Katalambano, but both of these will be mentioned in different posts.

One of the strongest advocates for the Reality of circular time is the idea that Yahshua is the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and Omega. In linear time, that would not be possible as the End and the Beginning are clearly distinct, however no matter where you start on a circle, that must also be where it ends. This is one reason that circular time can be used in "redemption" because in order to go back to the Beginning, you must simply keep moving forward in faith. When you reach the End, you will also have reached the Beginning. However, any point in a circle can be that Beginning and End, so there is never any need to wait to start afresh in faith.

If you've ever had a Word of Yahweh that you've believed through a process to bring it from "I know this is true" in the abstract to being able to hold it in your hands, you've likely experienced circular time. Circular time is something that Yahweh uses to complete a thing or knit points of time together so that, though appearing distinct, they are really One. If you are experiencing the Seven Circles of Katalambano, you are also overcoming the Veil and all vain imaginations put thereon. I do not think overcoming has to happen in circular time; that is just one way to experience it.

Often when you are given a Word of Yahweh, it takes time and continuous faith to bring it to pass. I had a Word for many years that I did not have clinical depression. When I was ten or eleven, I was diagnosed with that illness and given antidepressants. On February 15, 2010, I suddenly knew that I did not have that illness. What happened in between was circular time. I went through many moments in the circle of believing for healing, health, and wholeness. During the process, I would go through certain things that I "could've sworn I dealt with" or thought I had completed. It was often disheartening to see it come back around again, and yet each time it did so, I was a little stronger and a little more aware of Reality.

That sudden healing on February 15, 2010, was not really all that sudden. It was the last time that event cycled through the circle. It could not have happened if I had not been faithful in the other moments in circular time. I went through the process of "healing" in many circles. First, I believed that Yahweh healed people in modern times just as He had in the Bible. Then, I had to believe that He wanted to heal Me. After that, I believed that He would heal me... someday... in the future. Next, I believed that He had already healed me, though I did not see it yet. Finally, I saw it manifest in my mind and body so much so that I threw out my antidepressants and cancelled my psychiatrist appointment. I never looked back. Each of these belief systems were rotations around the circle. All of these moments came together as One when I finally manifested the Reality that depression does not exist. Depression does not exist because Yahweh is not depression and Yahweh is all that there is. Having lived in depression for ten years, I am not saying this in the way that many unfeeling people say depression does not exist. "It's all in your head; get over it," is not my meaning at all. This is one of those time that Reality and experience do not line up, so I must let go of my experience. Thus I did, and thus I received Reality... health and wholeness.

Circular time allows for the completion of a thing, and is one of the time ways that things can be "redeemed," though that usually fits more in spiral time. Circular time is also one of the ways that Abraham was able to move from the time he lived on Earth to Yahshua's actions of faith on the cross. Circular time moves things from future and past to present, uniting all three times as One.

I will be honest here and say that I know I have more to explore in circular time. I am sure there will be many subsequent posts about this view of time. It is newer to my awareness than linear time, but it is probably the next least-confusing. Indeed, there are some cultures--including Jewish culture, I believe--that have a view of circular time as well as linear time.

Though I am going to post many things in short succession, my advice is to take these posts and sit with them a while... soak them in. Your brain is stretching and growing, and that can be overwhelming. Believe me, I am currently incredibly overwhelmed by some things Yahweh is currently showing me... He is so big! It's awesome and He is worth it.

Why Creation Isn't Waiting For You to Rule and Reign

There's this idea that creation is waiting for the sons of God to take their places and make the world what it needs to be, this idea that some day out there Yahweh will come back and take us to Heaven and reign from His Throne. Once we remember sovereignty and that we are One with Yahweh, we realize that we are the ones sitting on this throne with Yahweh. We also need to remember that time and eternity are One. Time is the instrument of Our growth, and We actually use it to grow eternity. Once we realize these two things, we can see that We are sovereign in our own lives and ruling and reigning from this throne right now. The instrument of Our dominion is Our choices. This is what Paul talked about in 1 Corinthians 3 where he talks about how we each choose what materials to build our lives with. Some choose jewels, some choose clay. I, as the sovereign in my own life, get to decide what materials to build my life with. However, I cannot judge another's life. As each of u...

Pie

Imagine that all the love, affection, and resources (time, finances, emotional space, etc.) that each of us has is a pie. This pie may be larger or smaller depending on capacity and circumstances in a person’s life. Now, in order to be healthy and satisfied, each person must constantly be consuming an entire pie. But, after eating a single slice of our own pie, the rest of our pie cannot satisfy us or give us any nutritional value. What are we to do? We must give ourselves the first slice of our pie. This is self-love or self-care. That first slice imbues all of the other slices of our pie with nutritional value. But, after we have consumed the first slice of our own pie, the rest of our pie will give us nothing if we eat it ourselves. We must give the other slices of our pie to other people. Still, we must consume a whole pie to be satisfied, so others must give to us as well. In a healthy, functioning society and group, it would look like this: each of us eats our own first slice...

Rocks vs. Sand: Discerning Reality from Illusion

I keep saying that Yahweh is all that there is and that anything that isn't of Him isn't Real. You may well wonder, as I did, why we keep seeing things that aren't Real. Sickness, death, poverty, sadness... none of these are in line with Yahweh's order or character, so why do we perceive them? Some might say that we live in a fallen world, but did not Yahshua finish everything on the cross? (John 19:30). If we are to believe Him that it truly is finished, then we can return to His Reality right now. We do not have to wait until we die to go to Heaven. Indeed, we do not even have to die. (1 Corinthians 15:51, John 8:51, John 3:16, etc.)  If you just looked up those verses and rationalized away that they are talking about not dying after you die and go to Heaven (does that really make sense, though?), ask Holy Spirit to show you His Reality and judge it for yourself. I, personally, cannot now understand why Yahshua would say that anyone who keeps His Word would ne...
