Love is the Answer

"Love is the answer." People have been saying this forever, and yet I don't think it's quite understood. Humanity has separated itself into two overarching categories: good and evil. Each individual human has been told they have a "good self" and a "bad self." Whether it's Christians saying they have an Adamic nature that needs to be saved and a Christian nature that is due to the blood of the Lamb or it's the Native American proverb about the two wolves inside of you fighting for dominance, most cultures have a concept of good and evil, right and wrong. This separated interpretation of the world leads us to cut ourselves in two. I am "good" when I help others, have enough faith, intercede regularly, eat kale, etc. I am "bad" when I choose my own comfort over that of another, eat hamburgers, or even do drugs or hurt someone deliberately. My actions shift constantly and so my two natures must be warring within me. N...

Growth Mindset, Trauma, and Guilt

We have these terms in education called "growth mindset" and "fixed mindset." Applied to a classroom, growth mindset is basically the belief that every child can learn and be successful at any subject. Growth mindset doesn't mean that everyone learns to the same degree at the same time in the same way, but it does purport that all people can learn with enough time and effort. It posits that everyone can make some type of educational gain in your classroom in the time they are in that room. Fixed mindset, in contrast, says that people are born with certain talents and capabilities, and that there are just some things they won't be able to learn and some things at which they will automatically be successful. In other words, growth mindset gives a person onus. In fixed mindset, you have the luck of genetic draw and the things that happen to you. Traumas are things that happen to you. You don't ask for them. You don't want them. They are not your fau...

Covenanted Relationships

Judge   not, that you be not judged.  For with what   judgment you judge, you will be judged;   and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.    ~Matthew 7:1-2 This scripture is often interpreted in various ways. "Don't judge others at all because you're just as bad as they are." "Make sure you judge with righteous judgment according to the standard of Christ." "Whatever way you judge, you better be prepared to be judged." I would say that all of these are parts, but in greater context, the verse can be interpreted this way: Do not  interfere with the Covenanted relationship that another person has with YHWH. Do not trespass upon their Covenant by putting the measure (lines, authority, tenets) of your Covenant upon them. In other words, what's right for you is not necessarily right for others, and if you attempt to put your standards of righteousness--which you and YHWH worked out from the Beginning and walk in and write ...

Love is the Foundation and Relationship the Anchor Points

Revelation 3:20-22-- Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him and He with me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. I offer you a new way to see My world. As Our World. If you overcome old mindsets, Veils, and previous ways of thinking, you will join as One with Me with all accompanying rights and rulership even as I have joined My Father as One with all accompanying rights and rulership.  Ephesians 3:17-19-- that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in Love may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height--to know the Love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of YHWH. The foundation of all things is...

Multiversal Choices

Your best friend in the whole world, a guy you've grown up with and known since kindergarten, has decided to take up smoking (or drinking, drugs, unprotected promiscuity... insert reckless lifestyle here). You first notice him lighting up at a party, and you're shocked to realize that he has made such a choice. You know he's heard all the stories about how bad smoking is for you because you sat next to him at all the tobacco free assemblies at school, and you helped him to his seat after he looked a little green when watching the teacher in health class do the "how smoking affects the lungs" presentation using real pig lungs and cigarettes. Yet, here he is, a person you love and care about and want to see prosper, making an obviously unhealthy choice. What do you do now? This conundrum is faced on a daily basis by people who see others follow paths that lead to destruction. The question is answered in many ways. (This is not an exhaustive list.) Option 1: ...

The Meaning of Life

You know, people have been seeking and selling the meaning of life for probably as long as humanity has existed. Why are we here? What is our purpose? People have written countless books--many of which you can find in the self-help section of your local bookstore--about why humans are here and how to discover your unique purpose and meaning. Men and women often search for meaning in many places, usually in their jobs, their children, or their relationship with others. We are here to help others. We are here to give sacrificially. We are here to make the world a better place. We are here to leave a legacy. We are here to accomplish something... I have heard answers that range from "Life is a test for what you can handle in Heaven" to "We are here to fulfill a unique purpose designed for us by Yahweh and to bring Him glory in a way that only we can." The first one is, respectfully, preposterous, and the second one falls short of the greater Truth. Ultimately, no...
